Analysis

Both teams presented strong arguments, but the team arguing in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage present more compelling and evidence-based arguments. Start from the principle of homosexual ,they talked about the legalisation of a homosexual is a efficient way forcing people to accept homos more quickly and there will be more education on this field since the government is supported and gives direction to citizens that this is allowed. Legalisation is the first step to moving forward in society.

The arguments present by the team against legalizing same-sex marriage relied heavily on social norms. They mention why and how discrimination will occur more vigorously after the law is implemented and peoples’ interest on homosexual. Linking the homosexual parents with adopted children has a higher social awareness , the society may ignore other people in need like the poor. They claimed that the CHinese government hasnt got well prepared for the same sex marriage due to the series of social problems in this area. They did mention that equality and freedom is important , but they have to think twice before the people can accept more. They failed to address the relationship between marriage and relationship by using an example although they had mentioned that the concept of marriage in the modern society should be changed which marriage might not be the only way to present their love.
